A song* goes thus, “stop looking and simply see…”. While on a trip to Himachal, i remember hearing a fellow traveller tell me, “the views get monotonous after a point”. This, in response to me telling him that there comes a point where you don’t want to click pictures any more. You just want to take it all in.
Stop looking and simply see… The apparent monotony of the landscape is no more than a mirage, for every turn and every bend has a drastically different view to offer, each more dramatic than the last. One has just enough time to look and take in what they see. The greed and the lust for more is overpowering, the scale daunting, and yet, the heart, in an indescribable euphoria; one that can only be felt and never be explained. A mixture of excitement in anticipation of what lies ahead and a tinge of sadness for the view that vanished around the last switchback..
*the song mentioned is Who Am I, by Estas Tonne..
