The noise kept growing, within and all around. There was no blocking out the voices within the head. They only seemed to grow by the moment. That the voices were a result of the people around, the need of the moment was to stay away from everything and be ensconced in that ever elusive blissful silence.
A frantic gesture at the corner of the eye caught his attention, breaking the trance. A friend standing just by his side seemed to be saying something, only there was no voice. Signalling him to take the earbuds out she told him not to listen at such high volume.
If only she had known that it was the only respite he got from the madness they called reality.
